I made 3 different complicated hacks that all do the same thing and then found an easier way to do it:

internal codenz:
C++:
DWORD fullbright = 0x00454EF0;
__asm
{
call fullbright;
}

you have to run it every time you load a map because it increases the brightness of all the light objects on the map to max

how do you get the address ?
basically when you're editing a map there is a console command that you can enter that will increase the brighness of everything to maximum, which is 255. This is a map editor only feature. There are some IF statements that say "if (bEditMode == false) -> print Error and don't increase brightness" I ended up changing 4 if statements in the flow of this function before I could get it to work because of all the integrity checks and then later I found this more elegant solution that doesn't require you to change any bytes, you just call the address farther down the chain, bypassing all the IF statements.

I stumbled onto this function while working on looping through the mapEntities and grabbing the flag objects. I thought wow, fullbright should be really easy and then it ended up taking 4 hours to finish :p

I think like mamda said you need to have two under scores.
Here is my code that I updated to be able to toggle it, not perfect toggle but it gets the job done.
C++:
if (GetAsyncKeyState(VK_F9) & 1)
			{
				menu.sFullbright = "ON";
				bFullbright = !bFullbright;
				int * brightness = (int*)0x5100f0;
				if (bFullbright)
				{
					*brightness = 176;
				}
				else *brightness = 110;

				DWORD fullbright = 0x00454EF0;
				__asm
				{
					call fullbright;
				}

			}

Thanks GH Rake, :)

C++:
int * brightness = (int*)0x5100f0;
It's function to the Value Of Address ?.

The DWORD is a function. The int pointer is the brightness value that is set by the function to all the map light objects when it is called

Why you use simple functions ?.
I see at other thread. The Function for called like this.

C++:
typedef int (__stdcall *_Address)();
_Address Address = (_Address)(0x123456);

__asm
{
    call Address;
}

2 Different methods:

1)I'm calling the address using inline ASM

2) you can also make a typedef and typecast the address as a function pointer and call it using that method

3) You're mixing both methods for reasons unknown

If the function had arguments:
Method 1: you would push the arguments on the stack before calling the function
Method 2: you would declare the typedef function prototype with the arguments and when you called the function you would need to supply the arguments
