for c# I do not know

Also I heard its better to learn c++ first. but knowing c# helps with understanding c++

Agreed, if you learn C++ first the learning curve will be higher at first but it will make all other languages easier.

books are shit, atleast for me, its so fucking dull to read. To learn basics just look up C++ thenewboston on youtube, or C#, his channel has both. There pretty damn easy to follow, and you will learn the basics in a weeks time, just make sure after each lesson, you try to code something and combine all the lessons!

You won't come very far with just video's...books are really explaining everything and are way better for learning in general.

those videos 99 percent of the time follow books! There's also a video series thats like 150 videos which will teach u basics from Microsoft, I found it by googling a while back.

Just giving him more options, because most people I've talked to are visual learners.

Yes books go into much more dept, but for basics, there not needed!

Just make sure you take notes from the videos or books, which ever you choose, it will help you remember the syntax.
