Hi all.

Situation:
I have a hardware "DMX lighting console" to opperate a lightshow. It comes with a "remote PC-program" so you can controle the DXMconsole over a LAN.
I want to hack this PC - program , so i can add extra shortcuts for to make complex presets on the DMX-hardware. I've got some C++ experince but i'm new to this hacking stuff.

Problem:

Using CheatEngine i found the correct dynamic adresses. I searched for the offsets until i came across the a static address.
however if i restart the program is this static address isn't availible.

say the address is
C++:
 0x04F4448C
. If i try to edit it CheatEngine will show it like this:
C++:
gma.dll+7F448C
any ideas how to get a base-address located inside the main.exe file? or how to get the base_address of the gma.dll inside C++?

thanks in advance

DWORD base =(DWORD) GetModuleHandle("gma.dll");
Yes, that will return the base module base, but I think he's having an issue with finding a static address. @OP look up pointer scanning. You'll have to learn how to add offsets to an address in C++ as well.

I never used that function before I thought it would be easier than dwGetModuleBaseAddress but, it returns 0x0 everytime I use it...I must be confued about it's functionality...
It works you must use the .dll too:

DWORD hD3D, adr, *vtbl;
hD3D=0;
do {
hD3D = (DWORD)GetModuleHandle("d3d9.dll");
Sleep(10);
} while(!hD3D);

this is from a directX 9 hook which always works and is pretty "famous"

If you get 0x0 you must have tried to actually get the address of a module you don't have access to..
