      Good c++ book?

      Silent VPN
      This has probably been asked many times before, but I'm looking for a comprehensive c++ book for beginners... I'm currently reading c++ primer 5th edition and it's... kind of bad and I feel like I'm absorbing the information very slowly, not to mention it doesn't even have answers to its exercises. My goal with c++ is to write a hack one day

      Or are sites like learncpp better and should I just skip books? Thanks.

      A lot of C++ books are more for people that know basic C++ and most of the syntax. I personally recommend https://www.sololearn.com/Course/CPlusPlus/ for learning C++'s syntax and basic operations (It's on the app store too, you can download it to your phone and also run basic c++ code on your phone). Play around with what you learn and make some basic things like a calculator. When you are done with that course, I'd then suggest getting into a modern C++ book that is well written and making more complex programs. The most important thing is to make sure you learn MODERN c++, not old C++.

      all right thanks. It's probably best to start with learncpp and/or sololearn and then transition into c++ primer (for some reason it's a highly recommended book). This writing hacks though seems fun as hell, not to sound like a nerd, but maybe even comparable to sex.
