      Oh I see, it's weird because it does work when I use a pattern that does not have 00 and the game does not have anti-cheat. But if you say it worked for you, I must be doing something wrong~

      I noticed I really need to change the strlen to mask, even though it crashes my game. I found out it does scan the right address before it crashes my game as you can see here: https://i.imgur.com/0cHeo63.png

      0x40003d is what is found with strlen(pattern) (this address is wrong, but it doesn't crash)
      0x11c8784 is what is found with strlen(mask) this one is the address I want, but it crashes my game right after it finds.

      Fixed, I removed both VirtualProtectEx (before and after the RPM) and it works perfectly now. Thanks

      You should really update the main post in this thread. You're passing process access rights constants (in this case PROCESS_VM_READ (0x10)) to VirtualProtectEx which needs memory protection constants.
      0x10 is the value of PAGE_EXECUTE which explains why this would cause exceptions in almost any program.

      Yes, the rest of the code works fine (with strlen(mask) of course, but you already said it in the main post).

      Is there any reason that the pattern scan wouldn't work when there is a \x64 in the pattern? \x00 goes to \u0000 (which is right) and \x01 goes to \u0001 (which is right too) but \x64 goes to d
