      Note to Dev C++:

      Dev C++ was dead, until the IDE was updated by some new devs...

      If you wanna use Dev C++ be sure to download Orwell Dev-C++, and not the old unstable beta version.

      Current version is 5.2.0.1

      Maybe you could also update you're link... You're version is from 2005... It contains some serious bugs

      The new Website (you provided the old one):

      https://orwellengine.blogspot.de/

      Also maybe you could add Code::Blocks. It's one of the best IDE's I ever saw. It's not as heavy as Visual Studio and you can make it portable (https://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.ph...ks_portable.3F)

      Personally for my Projects I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Edition, which is really good if you got some big projects going on, but if you just code small things (under 50k Lines of code) Code::Blocks is an awesome IDE.

      If you plan on reversing Windows, Searching Security Holes in Windows and other deep stuff I recommand you IDA...

      IDA has a really powerfull Plugin system. For example there's a plugin called BinDiff

      There you can provide the old and the updated version of a .dll file. Then the Plugin compares both (not by just comparing Bytes)

      And it shows you the changes made. Also IDA Pro has some powerfull Graphical representation of code fragments.
      https://www.hex-rays.com/products/ida/pix/idalarge.gif

      The sad point is it's not free. But if you plan to get deeper into Reversing it's really worth it... (I think it starts at 500$)...
