      Hi there, Zephry here.

      How to Manual Map DLL
      Hey everyone. ;D !

Zephry's here to help others, as well, learn as much possible about programming. I am actually a beginner in programming, but I have experience with HTML and some Javascript. However, my dislike for web development is rather prominent. Never really liked the subject that much~

      So lets start,

I'm currently 20 years old, and majoring in computer science. My most preferred programming language is C++, however down the road I'd like to learn some C# as well; and probably more.

I started C++ 2 weeks ago, and it's already become a mind crunching sledgehammer' of complete shock and surprise. Surely enough, I've been rtfm-ing all this time, and by far my favorite book has to be 'C++ Primer Plus'. If anyone has any better suggestions in books, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hacking aside, what I really want to do with programming is game development. It's been sort of a childhood dream, and now I'm ready to begin this path more vigorously.

Anyway, it's so great to be here, especially amongst an intelligent individual such as you, Fleep. And I hope many others here can also direct me to the right path in programming.

Oh btw, this anti spam image thing is amazing! Never seen anything like it :P.

      Cheers~

      Hi Zephry!

I like you already lol! Both me and Fleep has some hate for CSS but have you done any 'php' programming before? Very good fun and gives a good coding side to the normal script element of web development.

Hope to talk to you around here sometime!

Since you prefer C++ and want to be a game dev maybe sumwhere along the road of education u can stop at the UDK (Unreal Development Kit) and learn its api.. i hear its got loads of features in terms of graphix as well as speed.

      Oh and welcome!!

Hi there, Zephry like Fly said I am with you as there isnt much love for HTML and general scripting here either :.

C++ is one of the toughest languages to get into, but if you get a grip on it you wont have any problems with C# and most other languages.

Yh game development sounds fun, I wanted to do that at one point, but I kind of lost a bit of interest in it.

If you would like to follow some simple tutorials on game development then i recommend you check out my video tutorials section, I used to use DarkGdk before i started learning any C++. If you havent heard of it, DarkGDK is a fairly simple library and makes your life much easier in game development. Of course this isnt a competitor with raw DirectX but i think for a summer project it is a nice thing to do as it helps you learn some of the basics e.g. AI, and also you dont have to write 200 lines for a simple action.

      Welcome to the forum

Agreed once you get comfortable with C++, this is the way to go.
